Setting: Cottage in a forest, winter initially, though the main action happens later in the summer.
Characters: Two sisters (or just one, depending on the telling), their mother, a bear, and then later an ungrateful dwarf (and again depending on what version it is, there's also a brother that shows up later, but to tell you who he's a brother to would most likely give everything away).
Some of the Conflict Includes: The bear comes into the cottage to get out of the cold, the dwarf gets himself into all kinds of trouble, and later the dwarf curses the girls.

Moment of Magic today:
Friday = dancing around the kitchen day. Do you dance too, when there's no one there to see you?
Ok, I'm totally going out on a limb and NOT googling it first. Is it Snow White and Rose Red? I remember a fairy tale of that name and I think that it had a bear. It definitely had a curse. There's my guess. (Now, I will go google and see if I'm right.)
ReplyDeleteHa! Did you click on the "show answer" link?
DeleteI clicked on the link after I commented. Ha. That was funny.
DeleteYou are a trickster, you! I am intrigued by fairy tales. I may just have to do this. I write dreadful fiction, so if there's space for a dreadful fairy tale...
ReplyDeleteThank you for engaging my senses and imagination so...
Heh. Everyone loves a good trick now and again. Especially on Fridays. Or is that just me?
DeleteYou should definitely do this. I imagine your version of a "dreadful fairy tale" would be less dreadful than you think, so. Yes, yes, please create a fairy tale, dreadful or not, and play along with me :)
Dancing around the house like someone derranged is one of our family activities so there is no need to wait until no one is looking :-) We have been know to turn all the lights off except for the lava lamp, turn the music up and make believe we are in a nightclub lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for forcing my little grey cells into action, it has been a while since I read this fairy tale, must go and find my battered copy and revisit this one!
*gasp* You have a lava lamp too? Ah, I love them. And what a happy idea, to turn the lights off except that and dance in the altered ambiance. Lovely, lovely.
DeleteSo are you going to create a fairy tale for next Friday? Please? (Do I need to beg, here, cause I will :D )
What for your blog?!?!? Argghh runs for the hills. Lol
DeleteWul yeah, Sleepy Joe. And I hear you've got some fabulously inspiring things going on in said hills, so good. That's the perfect place to run :)
DeleteOk, I may have missed the dealine by 37 minutes but have a look and see what you think ;-) http://sleepyjoes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/fairy-tale-friday.html
DeleteSorry, I may have left you hanging again!
